Default What can I demonstrate at a quilt exhibition--?

I have been asked to demonstrate at an exhibition in the new year. If you were going to an exhibition is there anything you would like to see being shown how to do?

I had thought about something including fabric folding on a polystyrene bauble design - or showing how to do mitred corners. Any ideas would be welcome and thank you.

Why not demo the 10-minute quilt block and it variations.

Will you have a sewing machine? How about the Dissappearing Hour Glass block. It is a visually appealing block and you could show both methods for bias edges or block with non bias edges.
If you don't have a sewing machine, you could have a top ready and show the how to use the Twister template if you have one.

I would like to see how to finish attaching binding. I get all the way to the end and can't get those mitered joints to fit right--always takes me 3 or 4 attempts to get the final section at the join to lie flat.

Years ago, I demo technique with binding. I would look at your strengths of what you preform exceptional well with quilting and demo that. It is a lot of fun and you will meet a lot of fellow quilters.

I saw Disappearing Nine Patch at a show once. It's amazingly simple. Also something that floored me was a lady showing how very wrinkled fabric can be made perfectly flat by sprizting it with a mixture of 1 tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of water before ironing.

MSQC Jenny Doan has a video for attaching binding. Good idea for a demo though!

Boston 1954, I love your tip about vinegar and water releasing wrinkles. I've been having my daughter bring me Downey Wrinkle Releaser Spray from the States as it doesn't seem to be available in Canada. Now I can make my own very cheap version. Thank you for sharing this!
