Default what color thread to quilt

I'm making Katie's Quilt that's on MQC website. I'm doing it in aqua brown and beige. Should I have the quilting stand out of would you quilt in like colors to match the fabrics? IE beige on beige then choose a secondary color for the squares. Here is a small sample. It's not sewn just up on the design wall

I think beige thread would work for the most part. It will blend in with the aquas as well as the beige. If you have planned special quilting motifs for the dark brown triangles, you might switch to a dark brown thread for that only.

If you want it to stand out, then a nice variegated. If you are wanting it to blend in, that may be a litter harder. I usually go with a nice cream, but it will still stand out on some places.

I also think a nice cream or cream variegated would work great. It always amazes me how much the thread blends in. I think the only place it would show would be in the dark brown triangles and that is really not much real estate.

I'd use the aqua/turquoise color. I like the quilting to show.

I think a light yellow thread would add so much to those colors.

I always test out various shades of color of threads that I have by doodling the thread on sections of the quilt. That will show you what color will look best.

What color is your backing going to be? If lighter, I'd say a cream thread. If brown backing, then brown thread.
Or switch it all, and use a variegated one!
