Red face What color thread to use??

When you are making a block with different color fabric in it what color thread do you use?

I'm working on some blocks that has black, light blue, red, and white, light yellow, light brown, dark brown...I have tried to use a off white thread but on the black and dark brown, and red seams you can see the color thread...then when you sew to the white and light blue you can really see the color thread, is there a color thread that would blend with all the different color fabric?

    Thanks

I was going to suggest a grey thread too.

I use a beige or grey thread for most of my piecing.

I use a taupe color for for everything that is not in the white/off white/cream spectrum.

I have several neutrals and will hold each in turn, next to the group of fabrics. Whichever I notice the least, is the winner. My 'neutrals' are light grey, dark grey, off white and putty (a sort of light tan). I also have a sort of greyish blue and a sort of greyish green.

I like to use variegated threat. King Tut has some great color mixes and I have been surprised at how well some of them work with my different color quilts
