Default What color thread would you use?

I would like to make a red and white quilt. What color thread should I use? I've been debating but can't decide. Red? White? Grey? Neutral?

What do you want to do with the thread? Quilt? Use red. Sew blocks together? White or grey. IMHO

Oops forgot to mention that it's for making the blocks. I don't want the thread to show or bleed. That wouldn't be good.

White, then. Show us pics when it gets finished. I love red and white quilts.

I use up old thread to piece quilts n always go with lighter colors on lighter fabric n darker colors on darker fabrics. I have not had a problem yet of thread showing.

I would use a neutral....cream or light gray works well for me.

I think white, too. I did a blue and white and used the white.

I'd use a neutral. I was taught neutral for light colors and gray for dark colors

To join the blocks together - steel grey. To quilt - check the dominant colour and choose a contrasting one if you want oomph or a harmonising varigated grey if you want it to be more 'blendable'.

I read on here a while back that someone was using up the bits and pieces of thread for her piecing and that is what I started doing. Great way to get rid of odds and ends and it does not show so no one knows
