I used to belong to group of quilters, and once a year everyone would bring in patterns, books, fabrics, UFO's, all kinds of quilting stuff. they no longer wanted. We would put our name and price on it, lay them on a table, and after our meeting, or during refreshments we had a yard sale. Everyone came away happy!

Our quilt guild lays out things like this for people to take. Then the person makes a donation to the guild for what they think its worth.

I donate mine to charity. There's always somebody that can use them.

I say post them here in the classified section. There are a ton of us starting out that want patterns and can't pay full price for patterns that we may not be successful at first shot. (I know I hesitate to buy them being so new!)

Just my thought!

Nice to know we can list them here. ( for a reasonable price?) Our guild exchanges quilt magazines, regular books and anything else one of us does not want. We toss it out on the table and usually someone else grabs it. If when everyone has had a chance at whatever and it is still left, we donate to senior citizens thrift shop.

Our guild has a quilt show every two years and we accept all donations and sell it. This money is put back into the guild to pay for lecturer's like Kaye England, Bonnie Hunter and the like as well as buying things to make quilts for Habitat for Humanity, Head Start doll quilts, Quilts of Valor and such. Never heard of donating to prison but that is a great idea.

Like right now I'm looking for the Fons & Porter Love of Quilting magazine July/Aug 2009.

"Old" can be "new" to someone else.
