Cut the outside block pieces 1" larger and then square up the block to the correct unfinished size. If in a pinch and no set block pattern is required I'd add sashing around the block to make it bigger.

Well I cut the pieces out again and used my walking foot (I love that foot and it is a scant 1/4) Still came out wrong, so I clicked the needle to the right twice and it came out perfect! Thanks for all the suggestions :)
