I have friends in my quilt guild who have large stores of quilts; some give them to their children and some hold onto them. I'm wondering what you do with your quilts if you're not a professional quilter. I tend to make mine with someone in mind (making 1 high school and 1 college graduation now & made a wedding quilt last month for my granddaughter). After spending so much time with them it's difficult for me to give them away. What do you do with yours?

Same for me. I usually have someone in mind that I am making them for. And when I am done it is very hard to part with them. I have very few at home. Most go to my children and grandchildren.

Mine have all been made with someone in mind - as gifts to family/friends, or for doll quilt swaps here on QB.

They are always given away as gifts. I don't have a single one that I have ever made. . .

Mine all go to Family. I agree, it is hard to let go of them, but everyone that I give one to, knows how much work and pleasure that goes into one, so they are all dearly appreciated.

Usually have someone in mind...until recently...planning on peicing several for quick gifts.

I'm only on my third quilt but they've all gone out the door thus far. I really hope to work on one for ME soon! :P

I give them away! But thankfully, I have a huge family (8 siblings, 20 nieces/nephews), so I've got plenty of people to give quilts to.

I usually have someone in mind or a special occassion that I am stitching a quilt for gift-giving. I do have a couple of quilts for my own King sized bed and am now working on a couple of smaller quilts for the rec room. For the first time ever in my quilting life (as a result of our guild's Finish Your Pig Challenge) I actually have some quilts finished with no immediate owner. My nephew would like a new blue quilt but the ones in my finished pile both have green borders. I guess I need to finish another P.I.G!

All of mine are made with a recipient in mind. Sometimes that changes before I'm done, for whatever reason, but they all have an intended home. One that I started as a baby gift for a particular person I ended up doing a different one because she did not want pink. That one is now going to one of my daughter's friends who is expecting in October.
