I have no carpets in my house, so just a ShopVac.

This is what I do as well.

I have laminate floors and use a dust mop. This is after I was not carefull and my rollers on my office chair were full of thread and my DH and I had to cut and dig to free the wheels up.

Oh, how I envy you guys without carpet in your sewing area. My sewing room is in the basement level of our home with one small window and french doors at the end of the room. I love it when I can sew upstairs in my dining room because I have hardwood floors there and so much more light from the windows. Am always checking prices on alternative floors for the sewing area, like laminate, cork or even taking up the carpet and staining and sealing the concrete under the carpet. Me thinks me hubby won't go for that though.

first..a lint roller...second a little hand held vacuum...I have hard wood floors. we have to do this job gently so as not to eat things precious! I can't imagine using a machine as powerhungry as a shopvac in my sewing room!! lol I do use the regular vacuum lastly.

Guess I'm messy. I usually sweep up most of the stuff, then pick thru to get pins out, really big stuff I pick up by hand then suck it all up in the Shop Vac. Really works for me as I miss the trash can when I'm picking out stablizer when I finish a machine embroidery.
