Default What an enlightening experience

I attended a workshop at our LQS yesterday... Brandon Mably who has been a manager and a fabric designer with Kaffe Fasset in London for over 15 years enlightened us on COLOR. We worked with the KF Bright Squares pattern from the book Heritage Quilts. We were encouraged to step out of our boundaries and I have to say the blocks on my design wall are not anything that I would have never chosen but was delighted in the outcome and thoroughly enjoyed the class.

Brandon is on tour in the US for 7 weeks and if he shows up in your neighborhood, you shouldn't miss the opportunity for his class. He has posted some of the class photos on Kaffe Fasset FB page, including photos from our class in Maine yesterday. He also has his own FB page which might give you his whereabouts and tour information.

I have never worked with Kaffe fabric because they are all so bright.

I love color. If I like a color it goes in my quilts, my house, my clothes. I tend to look at items separately. My girls say I have no sense of home decor. LOL I can look at the purple throw pillow with orange trim next to the bright red one with green and blue trim and not see why it wouldn't look good on my patterned fabric easy chair.

Oh, lucky you, I love the Fasset/Mably line of fabrics. Gee, I didn't know he was in Maine recently!

I love the bright saturated colours Kaffe uses It would be quite wonderful to meet one of his designers.

I would love to see the blocks on your design wall---can you post photos?? I love KF fabrics and have bought many but just can seem to figure out the right patterns for them!

My family has always said I was color blind but truly I am not. I tell them I am not particular like they are my stuff don't have to match.

I like the varieties from the lightest of pastels to the darkest of blacks and love the bold.
