Last month I made a quilt that had appliqued chickens on a few blocks and primitive flat flowers on the others. Instead of doing the flat flowers I made yo yo flowers with yo yo centers. It gave the quilt a dimensional effect and they really popped! I was very pleased with the results and got lots of compliments at our LQS
Also, when we were staying at a B&B last year in upper NY, our room had a quilt on it that used yo yo flowers. They were appliqued on with a trailing vine and leaves inbetween. It was really nice and thought maybe someday.......

Such good ideas! I think I want to applique them to squares, maybe as flowers. They are made from a Moda Looking Back charm pack so they are dark. I am thinking some homespun fabric leaves and yo yo flowers appliqued. Love all the good suggestions! Thank you so much!
