dunno ... but I don't think my Clematis would fare well growing on a quilt. Would love to hear what trellis is in Quilting Lexicon. A flower embroidered sashing perhaps?

the lattice quilts i have seen were made so the 'sashing-strips' were a diagonal set...like lattice...sashing strips are usually vertical-horizontal...lattice is diagonal...just another frame

If you do a google search, or look in your quilt books, it's one & the same, go figure! I know, cause awhile back I was looking for a lattice design & that's all the info I found.....

I view lattice more as a background quilting design than the actual pieced part of a quilt. However, I made a small quilt of squares surrounded with sashing in different colors that were pieced to appear woven in and out.
