I'm sorry if the question has already been asked, but I am making my first Bow Tucks and it says 5"x WOF for the handles. My fabric is not 44" long. What is the proper length for the Bow Tucks handles?

I've been looking through the threads on BowTuck's purses, but I don"t see it mention, so here I am again asking for you all's help. Thank you!

you can make them what ever size you want to . I made mine 30" because that is the size of a purse that I had and I liked it

It is a personal choice. If you have to cut them separately just don't make them too short, about 20" is enough.

Measure the straps on your favorite purse than add an inch (for seam allowance and adjustment) and there you go! :)

I don't like short handles. I measured a bag I had that I liked the strap length on and used that measurement plus seam allowances. I had to allow extra fabric/fleece and cut 2 of each.

I cut mine 30" for the same reason as cathyquilty. I just measured the handles on a bag I use a lot.

You can make them any length you want. It's a personal choice.

Whatever the with of the fabric I am using is the length of the handle unless I need it longer or shorter. I am thinking of making a couple with handles that are of the shorter holding kind. I have been having a blast playing with my basic pattern and changing things to make it more personal. I even used ribbon for the ties to make bigger bows.
