So here's the variations ... and the fabric that I am using!
Same colour per "box"
alternate colours - Variation 1
alternate colours - Variation 2
And here are the fabrics that I am using
It's going to be a 9 block ...
Thanks very much!

Ooh. Beautiful fabrics! I love batiks, and white-on-whites is one of my fabric addictions, so I'm sure it's going to come out stunning no matter what you decide. But personally I like the same color per box, or variation 1 the best. Just my humble opinion.
Very excited to see what you do, this looks like it's going to be a stunner.
I like the 2nd one best
I like the 2nd one best. My close second choice is the first photo. Any will be lovely!!
Love your fabrics, I think the first one gives the pattern the most definition. I have made the bento box before and look forward to seeing what you choose!
Your designs are all lovely. I googled bento box quilts and looked at the images, and in general I like the scrappier look. https://www.google.com/search?q=bent...w=1067&bih=647
Hey, my quilt is there! 5th quilt in the third row...
As you can see from these photos, there is a vast number of ways to do this design. It all comes down to personal preference. Marion, I would suggest you play around with layouts before you sew your blocks all together, and discover the layout that most pleases your eye.
Your fabrics are beautiful. It's going to be a pretty quilt no matter how you put it together.
