Great news! My son and DIL have announced that they are expecting. This will be our first grandbaby :-)

Apart from the usual cot quilts, does anyone have some suggestions for other things to make?

Wonderful news......grandchildren are the best.
I would suggest ... a hooded bath towel and a travel change pad. This is a link for the change pad.

Is the baby to be Christened? Maybe a Christening gown.

How about a birth announcement - this is one I made. It was a Nancy Halvorsen pattern.

I made a coming home outfit, white dress and a robe/gown and a hat, plus a matching blanket. It was a summer baby, so I used soft batiste , added decorative stitching, soft lace trim and beautiful white ribbon. I also made lots of soft knit ,two piece footed jammies with little appliques on the shirt, and lots of bibs and burp cloths. My niece just made cute machine embroidered onsies for her GD.

bibs, receiving blankets, burp cloths, changing pad (can use flannel backed vinyl tablecloth for one side of it), small diaper bag for quick trips where you don't need 'everything'...

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions - I'm making a list of them all and have saved the link (thanks Nana). Saved a pic of the birth announcement also - its beautiful Katei.
