Oh well, you didn't want to rest anyway, did you?? The Carpenter's Star goes together really quickly. I clicked until I got a real close up of your fabric, and then I was able to see the silver in it. That actually goes really well with your gray fabric. Were you thinking of the gray as the second color in a Carpenter's Star...what would you use for the back ground then? Or maybe the gray as a background and your red or black that you said you had, as the second color in the star? Anyway, whatever you decide, be sure to take pictures!! (I am no good at visualizing and would have to pull out my graph paper and colored pencils to see what it would look like.)

I was thinking the gray as background and putting red with the print and binding in black. What do you think?

I've been wanting to make a Magic Squares quilt. Here's a link to MSQC's tute (I hope....you might have to copy & paste): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XddS...69C28&index=63 It looks like it's really easy and fun, and with your beautiful fabrics, it should turn out gorgeous! Good luck!

Misty's Mom, if you look for houndstooth quilt pattern (in a google/pinterest search) you will see that it is a quilt pattern that can be made with just two colors and it looks REALLY complicated. But it is not. If you cannot find the pattern, please let me know :-)

I'm not sure about Carpenter's Star, which IMHO I think works best with small prints or near-solids. The larger the print, the more obvious is the "join" of each HST that makes the star points. There's a lot of movement in that lovely floral that will point out every join. If you add a third color, black would be great. I think that would make the silvery gray parts show up even more.

I've recently made 2 quilts using Warm Wishes. Quick and easy and I can see it working with these fabrics, too. Love the gray you've put with this!

How about a BQ? That way your beautiful fabric will show. Put the grey and red for the strips.

I'm sorry, but no pattern comes to mind, however, your fabric is gorgeous.

I like that pattern, too! Just not sure about that particular gray fabric with the fabulous red.
