    Hi
At our childcare center we are making a quilt with children aged 1-9 years old. We are entering it into a quilt show in March.

We purchased some quilting stories and in the book "Quilting Now & Then" it states:

"And when she had the shapes all marked she got her scissors ready. To cut each piece precisely she had hands both firm and steady.

Those ladies cut each tiny piece by hand without a mutter, But now we have a great deice that's called a rotary cutter."

I tried googling it but had no luck.

Can someone help me? ;-) Thanks

A mutter is when you say words under your breath, usually complaining ones.

sounds to me like they are saying they cut the pieces without complaint.

I am thinking that some of those hands doing the cutting were sore, swollen, arthritic ones... it is not surprising that they would mutter while cutting :D:D:D
