I saw a quilt like this on a blog and worked it up in EQ. I couldn't find it in the block library though so I had to draw it. But if there's some hint on putting it together quicker I want to find it. Also I know it's made from half square triangles but wondered if there's a name of the entire block (there are 9 on this particular quilt).

Can you name the block yourself? As in you create a name for it in order to locate it faster?

Sure is nice. I'd call it "A Gaggle of Gale's Pinwheels!"

I have a quilt my grandmother and her MIL made together with that pattern. I looked it up in Barbara Brackman's book and it is called The Colorado Quilt. It is block #1140b in her "Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns" and was first published in the Kansas City Star in 1941. I have plans to make another one some day. Mine is blue and white. I love it!
