    It looks like the 10 minute block to me. The sides pieces (off white in my dample) stitch together and look like a circle.

    It is not a snowball either. I have always callled this a humming bird block. I may be absolutely wrong on this.

    I just realized that Jenny Doan also has a tute for a spider web quilt. The pattern is the same its just in reverse colors and no string piecing. Clear as mud?

    One name for the block is hummingbird. My grandmother made one in the 40s, and I have seen a couple others from the 30s.
