Default What quilting pattern to use?

I posted this quilt top a few days ago asking about cutting crooked printed fabric and got great replies. Now my problem is how to quilt this--all over, outline, or ??. It is a crib size and I was wondering if I outlined the minions and some other stitching pattern around the edges, would that be enough stitching to hold the batting. I was thinking that by outlining the minions they would show on the back as well. Suggestions please! Thank you.

I'd outline the Minions, including their eyes, clothes, etc. then I'd do cross hatching on the background diagonals.

Are you quilting it on a DSM or longarm? I think the Minions might need a little more than just outlines...it could end up a favorite and be a "dragger". If using a DSM I would simply follow the lines on the background. Maybe some meander on the body in the jeans and face parts with matching thread colors.

You have a diamond pattern on the back so I would just crosshatch following those lines. I would outline parts of the clothes, eyes and other features with matching thread.

It does look as though you'll have to do something in addition to outlining the features on the faces, as they're so large. I agree with crosshatching the background, so maybe crosshatch the faces (not through the eyes), too, but with matching thread. That might be the least conspicuous.

It depends on the batting you are using. Some say stitch 4". Others are good for 10". Check what yor batting recommends. It will be cute whatever batting you use.

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions. All very useful if I ever do a panel quilt again--not likely as I love patchwork.
