I picked up a tan Singer, electric, sewing machine from Freecycle. I can't figure out what I have.
The motor was made in Canada.
Stamped on the bottom of the machine is the number 22166072, and Singer-C 17. There is also a small plate on the bottom with a number that starts with D 2. I can't read the rest of it. The machine was made in Brazil.
No cord or foot pedal, so I don't know if it works. While the machine is filthy, the motor looks clean and shiny, so I wonder if it's a replacement.
This machine is very heavy. It has a zig zag stich.
I've googled and searched, and can't find anything that matches.
Can someone help me identify this machine, and find some info online?
Thanks,

Well, nevermind. I sent DH down to take a picture. He finds it's a Singer 177C, which it states on the FRONT of the machine. This is after I am on my hands and knees, head to the basement floor, trying to find the number on the bottom of the machine. Never overlook the obvious!
