palm tree block instructions

How do you cut the fabric to make the palm tree block found at http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/home/pa...uilt-block.htm I need the finished block to be 6". Also, are there any sewing hints or short cuts?

hint: click on the link ~ when you get the error page, go up and edit the http: address to delete the very last character (a stray period)... the link should come up for you :)

Well I found it. I think you need to piece it togther. Doesnt give you measurements. but does give you a,b,c,etc, and tells you to sew a to b, etc. Try pieceing it. Hope this helps you out. Im pretty new to quilting.
