I'm makeing a Paper pieced lap quilt. It's only 33 x 33 which dosn't seem big enough. I am now trying to do extra boarders around it. I was just wondering what size you do?
I should tell you i'm new to this.

The lap quilts I've done are about 50 x 60.

The smallest I've done is 45x60, and that was for my...ahem "vertically challenged" grandmother. I don't really like "lap" quilts though...I want a quilt I can roll up in like a burrito, so I tend to do 60x80 average for a snuggle/throw quilt as a gift, and even bigger for myself. lol I base the size largely on who will be getting it and make it bigger or smaller depending on their body size.

I also tend to make my lap quilts larger than normal. Even for the baby quilts, I make them at least 36" or larger.

I make mostly lap quilts which vary from 50 X 50 to 65 X 75 (I have a few very tall nephews!), but most of mine are around 60X60. Many of my lap quilts are for couples, so they're generous enough for two to snuggle under. ;)

I also do about 50" x 60". I figure this is the size to cover the lap and legs of a person who is sitting on a chair or in a wheel chair.
