Hi there...I tried searching first, so hopefully this question hasn't been asked before.

I'm just curious as to what size quilts you all tend to make? I love looking at large quilts, but I think the biggest quilt I've actually made so far was around 60x60. Hubby gave me EQ6 for my birthday this week *woohoo!*, and I designed with it a quilt that, with 9" finished blocks, will be about 72x72 when done. I'm tempted to scale it down to 7" blocks...but then again think maybe this is the time to take the plunge into something a little larger than I'm used to.

What size do you tend to make and why?

I always make king size quilts. Smaller than that and they won't fit any beds in the house.

I seem to have lots of friends having babies or grandbabies, so I make a lot of baby quilts (usually 40 x 40 or so). I've also made a few lap quilts, about 60 x 72. I don't have a lot of room for the quilting part, so haven't tried any very large ones. I'm going to make my neice a quilt for graduation, probably a large twin, for her dorm room. That will be my biggest effort. I'd love to make a king for my bed, but I'd have to do a quilt as you go or have it quilted by a pro.

Most of mine have been extra long/extra wide queens. On a full bed, they drape to floor, and on a king, cover top nicely. I have no space right now, so have gone the table-topper and small quilt route for now.

I've made all different sizes..lap size all the way up to king... I almost never make them square...I usually make them oblong...the one king size I made was 110 x 110 tho, that is the largest one I've ever made.

Most of mine are queen or king. I made my grand daughter a twin and it felt like a baby quilt. Guess I just always think big. My bed is a twin so maybe I need to make a quilt for myself. Ha Ha

Mostly cribs and laps. Because I am lazy. Because I get bored and want to move on to something new looooong before I get to twin size or larger.

but mostly ... because I'm lazy.
