Default what type of label

If I don't want to embroider one (don't have that type of machine) and I do NOT like to hand sew, what do you suggest to do for the label. And what is the minimum that you put on it? none of my are for a quilt show (or the quilt police, haha)

I've made my own labels using those fabric sheets from Joann Fabrics and the computer to enter the info. onto the transfer sheets. I an make two labels per sheet. I include how the quilt was made (machine pieced, machine quiltied, etc.) and the name and place of the person receiving it as well as my name and place along with the current year.

I'd also include any details such as why it was made - for someone's birthday, wedding, etc.

I went online and ordered preprinted labels that have my name on them and "An Original By ..." and "Made Especially For You By ...". Once I use those up, I may look into other options.

If you want an embroidered label but don't have an embroidery machine you could have someone make one for you. I use sewnsewer2 here on the QB. She is very reasonable and just a doll to work with.

Me, too! Sewnsewer2's labels end up being the best part of my quilts!

I used to hand embroider my labels, with my name, a date, who it's for, and if it's an occasion (birthday, wedding, etc).
Now I have the embroidery machine. Maybe you should contact sewnsewer2?

I've made labels with special fabric sheets and my computer, listing name of who it's for, my name and date. Been hand sewing it to the back of the quilt, but have been wondering about fusing it instead. Would be a lot quicker, but I worry that it might some day just peel off. Still thinking.

If you want a quick label with very little hand sewing - start with a square of fabric, fold in half diagonally so you have a triangle. Put the triangle into the corner of the quilt, raw edges matching with quilt, and stitch on the binding. When the binding is on, all you have to stitch by hand is the diagonal folded edge of the fabric. write on it with appropriate pen and you're done. determine the size of square you need by writing out on paper what you want to put on the label then measure, adding seam allowances.
