He is firm on the $300, too.
Just thought I would post so if anyone has a set of these binders...

I would not pay $300, deceased relative or not. It seems most CL ads mention this term, it doesn't make me want to buy it more.
Seems extremely high if he is serious about selling.

honestly, nothing.

It is a shame that the "relative" became "deceased" before she could fulfill her dream of quilting. There is one of the binders listed on ebay for $19.95.

If you are interested in buying them, you could always let him know that it isn't worth $300 and that it is doubtful that the "relative" paid $300 for it.

That's way too high! I would think at best 1/2 of what is being asked is a premium price and he would be lucky to get it.
Not knowing what patterns are in the collection, I would not pay very much considering there are so many free patterns available on-line and a lot of new patterns posted at reduced prices in the in the For Sell or Trade section of our board. Also, you would need to add postage on top of his price which would increase your total cash outlay. You can buy a lot of quilting books with multiple patterns in them for $300 especially if you go to the 1/2 price book store.
Fabric is like money, no matter how much you have it's never enough.
I have some from the collection. My mom started it; but, did not finish it. It is nice; but not worth the price he is asking because many are plastic template patterns that most do not use now. There are faster ways of cutting the patterns out. I agree with Betty62 that $300 would buy a great deal of books especially with coupons. Hope it helps. Teresa
another one thats NUTS. I think hes related to the dude with the treadle machine for a $1000.
