I haven't made it, but Grandma used to: Gathered Star. The center is a circle and the bases of the starpoints is gathered, adjoining the circle.

I really like Log Cabin, then I loved churn dash, sometimes I love any kind of star like lemoyne star - usually what I am working on is my favorite.

I have no particular favorite , but am drawn to blocks with stars.
It seems my favorite is the next quilt. because before I am done with one I can not wait to start on the next.

There are way too many blocks I love to even begin listing them. My sister and I began our own 'swap', making 12 inch quilt blocks. We each made 6 of them, then mailed them to each other. My sister is in Calif, and I'm in Ohio. We had a ball choosing blocks to sew. We decided that we would put them in whatever we wanted and I'm making a scrappy quilt for myself (which is taking a long to finish!!), so I'll be adding my sisters blocks to it. She is wonderful at appliquing, and I'm so tickled that she made a lot of my blocks with it.

My all time favorite is the log cabin in its many variations. Can be classic or current depending on fabric choice and layout.
