I love designing and selecting the fabric - then of course the piecing! I do not do the LAQ, I send all mine out.

Planning and preparing. Playing with the pattern on grid paper, figuring out which fabrics to use and how much of each I will need. Writing out the steps and how many pieces to cut. Then cutting the fabrics and making the top.
When it gets to sandwiching you lost me. I do not like that part at all which is why I have at least 15 tops waiting for the basting.

The piecing. I am learning to not mind the quilting part and when I'm actually doing it, I kind of like it. But I'm still at the simply stippling, meandering FMQ stuff.

I love the process of creating a quilt. Maybe my favorite is any hand stitching, particularly if it is a new pattern like hand stitching a feather pattern or the final stitching of the binding. One of the groups I belong to know I like to apply the bindings and save that part for me on their charity quilts. Definitely like the quilting part...would hand quilt for $ if I could ever catch up on my own projects, sigh.

Hand quilting is definitely my favorite followed by binding. I like binding because it means the quilt is done!
