    Probably lone star, mariners compass, or double wedding ring, if you're limiting this to traditional blocks.

    I've seen some great quilt patterns in magazines.

    My favorite quilt pattern is an Irish Chain. They go together so quickly and you can even make them with scraps. My avatar is the latest Irish Chain I make, black, grey and white for DD.

    Jacob's Ladder is a favorite, but my go-to pattern for baby quilts is 9-patch with snowball blocks in between.
