felt is harder and fleece is softer? felt is more for decorative work and fleece is better for snuggling up in?

Fleece is a synthetic, stretchy, warm, and soft. It has a lot of give to it.

Felt, is made out of wool or synthetics. It doesn't ravel, so it is used in raw edge applique. Some are washable and some are not. It does not have any stretch or give to it. :D:D:D

Felt is pressed or smooshed together ( think of your drier vent screen lint only tighter) rather than woven or knitted. Most fleece I have seen is a knit fabric.

I am thinking felt is a natural wool woven and "felted" and fleece is a synthetic. I bet if we could see the way it is made it would clear all this up quickly. The weight is very different too.
