My neighbor gave me her mother's stash. My neighbor is about 70. I don't know how old the fabric is but it is older than me so it's got to be ooooold.

That's really awesome!

I have some fabric yardage from my mom who used to work in Grants Department store in the 50's. Still has the Grants tags on it. Back when you could get 4 and 5 yard pieces for $1.15 total. There are some fabrics I have prior to that. I find really interesting the ones with tags still on them sayingthings like, "Dacron - the new wonder fabric for your family!"

I also have some lace that suposedly my 3rd great grandmother made - early 1800's or so. I have no way of proving that, yes, the lace is obviously hand made... and old. But that's all I know. Once I find the perfect Grandmother type wall quilt to make, the lace will adorn that. Eventually... lol.

Awesome stuff. What was the 20's fabric usually made out of? 100% cotton? treated cotton? Wool? I'm curious.

I have some we found in my grandmother's attic 30 years ago and some of it is pieced by hand by her mother, so probably early to mid 1800's.

My oldest fabric is from the late 1960's when I started seriously sewing as a 12 year old. I also have a couple of pieces that are older than that purchased at the church rummage sale.
