Schnibbles Times Two by Carrie Nelson is a great book for using charm packs. I'm a newish quilter and find her directions easy to follow.

I've used them to make bowties. There is very little waste. Moda Bake Shop has a pattern.

Charm squares-one of my favorite things. Only trouble is you can't buy just one pack. Lots of great patterns to use too. I especially like to do braided columns paired with coordinating strips.
