I dont know about all of you but with the holidays and the kids being out of school I have yet to go out to the studio except for bumping the heat up out there so the pipes would not freeze. I have a project laid out and was working on until a week or so before Christmas. Then I have the King sized quilt for our bedroom to finish when the current project is done.

Now I am going to go and pick up all of the sewing machines and the parts I bought a few weeks ago then I will have to sort out the mess and get it put up when I get back so I can use my hauler to go pick up a car I need to be working on getting it ready for paint.

I sure do miss my machines and being able to play around in my studio.......

Billy

I hate it when the "got tos" interfere with the "want tos"

Can you steal away just a little bit of time? All chores and no quilty is not good for Billy.

I hate when life gets in the way.

Sounds familiar! I force myself to something "productive" (in other words, something necessary and non-quilting around the house) before I allow myself near any fabric....I hate it when I get waylaid by something else and never make it to MY area!

Once again I am so fortunate. My DH seems to know when I am antsy to get at my machine so he will pick up the slack on the housework and cooking so that I can sew. He says that I am much more relaxed and happy when I can quilt for at least a couple of hours each day and that it makes him happy to see me happy. I guess you can't get any better than that!

I know exactly how you feel...I am swamped with tasks other than quilting...I can't get to one of my machines because our middle boy is not moving into his new home for two weeks and we are stockpiling his stuff and emptying some of our cupboards to get him started. It is so very hot I am having to spend extra hours mulching, watering and covering plants so they survive these dreadful hot days...ah well, maybe tomorrow....

I was taken aback when I read that, then looked to see where you live. That's right, it's summer in Australia, isn't it? It most definitely isn't hot in the U.S., that's for sure. Although it is warming up here in Ohio. Our town is having our annual ice sculpture festival this weekend. The temperature is in the high 30s, so I'm afraid the sculptures won't last long. We were in the deep freeze the past few weeks.

Billy and everyone: Good luck getting back to your quilting projects. We're trying to finish moving this weekend. I don't know when I'll get my sewing room set up. :? Hopefully soon!
