I saw on a quilting video a ruler that you place on your fabric and fold the fabric over it and it has measurements so you know how much of a seam you are ironing. Does that make sense, and does anyone know what kind of ruler it is, or what it is called?

was it a metal ruler with one side slightly curved? If so, it may be a Dritz brand. I have one at home and like using it for regular sewing..only one thing...when you have ironed on it a while the metal gets hot so you are more apt to burn your fingers...but the measuring aspect is great.

I'm not sure if it is metal or not, (probably, or it would melt) I couldn't tell, but it looked like a handy tool when you want to turn under seams a specific amount. I will have to check at Joann's today. ( I will force myself to go there). Thank you so much for your reply.

Thank you everyone, I found it at Joanns. It is metal, made by dritz and is for hemming.
