I love looking at everyone's projects! My question is.....where do I find the patterns? I think I need to start a bucket list.

Alot of traditional patterns are free on the internet. If it is a specific pattern, the quilter often lists the name/designer/website where it was purchased. If not, you can PM him/her and ask or post the question. Are there specific ones you are looking for?

Hi and welcome to the board from Central Iowa. There are free patterns everywhere on the web. Just go to google and begin (smile).

I like www.quilterscache.com. The only thing that is a bit tough is estimating fabric as she only shows you how to cut out for one square.

I have also found that I am pretty good at being able to replicate a lot of what I see. And in calculating how much fabric is needed.

That said, what i do is if I see a quilt out here that I really like, I try to copy the picture and the name of the pattern and email it to myself at a gmail account. So now I have access to the information in the future.

Also if you do the FabShopHop online, you can check each site for patterns. If you find a designer that you like, google the name. Many have sites of their own.

Also check out the fabric manufacturers sites. Often they have free patterns (RJR, Moda, etc)

Every time I see a "want to add to my bucket list" quilt I bookmark it. My list is growing longer and longer. Don't know if I'll get to any of them but at least I am inspired.

Two other places that have free patterns are connectingthreads.com and quiltinaday.com :-)

Almost all the fabric companies have free patterns...Red Rooster, Hoffman, Moda, Blank Textiles and Robert Kaufman are just a few. There are soooooo many out there, I can't remember the last time I had to actually buy a pattern.
