Do you have a favorite site to download machine embroidery designs?

DH bought me a Brother SE-400 yesterday.
    Want to start downloading designs.
I was wondering where is the best place to get them from. :?:

We ordered the Amazing Designs Little Max.
Should be here next Monday. So, I'll be ready when it gets here. :D

I have seen some lovely free designs, but others are not digitized very well. I would suggest stitching them out on practice fabrics first :D:D:D

There was a thread a few weeks about embroidery and there were lots of sites listed on that tread. For the life of me I can't find it I have searched and searched all of the board for it. Maybe someone will know what I am talking about. Should have bookmarked it :)

Congratulations on your embroidery machine.
Personally I believe you will get better designs by buying designs on CD's from Amaazing Designs or some of the others available. The price of good designs are about 1/4 what they were 10 years ago. There are so many great designs out there its limitless what can be created. The free downloads many sights have available are poor quality, rather small simple designs. They look as though a grade schooler made them.
It is hard to produce a great quilt or similar project when you start with an inferior embroidery design. Do some research and you will quickly see the difference between a "good" design and a "poor" design. Thread, stabilizer, fabric, etc is expensive why waste them on an inferior design. Good luck with your new machine and have fun creating some great projects.

As mentioned above, there is a huge difference in the quality of free embroidery designs. If find designs from well-known digitizers, you should be all right, but lots of free designs are practice by digitizers and some are not done well at all. Having said that, one site I know of that has a lot of free designs (she puts a free design on her website with every set that she designs) and are very high quality is http://bfc-creations.com

I have bought a ton of her designs and stitched them out. They are fabulous.
