i have a bailey 13. it messed up, i dont know what i did to fix the problem but it went back to sewing, 2 rows, then the thread broke and now it s messing up again, it is tangling thread in the bobbin. i changed needle, cleaned bobbin case, checked it for loose threads, re threaded it, now i dont now what to do. the bobbin is in right, i thought at first that was the problem but nope, its in right. any ideas ?

THANKS IN ADVANCE, oops sorry bout the caps,
    Peggy

Make sure you have the thread coming off the bobbin correctly also. If I were you, I'd call Chuck. He's very helpful. Oh, and check your tension dial - make sure it's at the right setting.

If I were you, I'd try a new bobbin, or rewinding the old one. One time I was having similar problems and it was the bobbin was poorly wound.

Make sure BOTH thread paths are clear of lint/debris and are accurately threaded. Are you sewing or quilting? If you're sewing, hold on to both thread tails for the first 3-4 stitches. If you're quilting, pull the bobbin thread to the top, then hold both thread tails when beginning stitching.

sandyms- i have the bobbin in so the thread pulls to the left twards the hole in the bobbin case. then when i put the bobbin in the machine the thread feeds to the right.......i'll try the tension. thanks bunches.

    ksellers- did the bobbin thing.

    peckish- did that.

    quiltnnan- did that too ,,,

this is what stumps me, so to speak. im a production sewing machine operator . i've used tghe regular machine, the bartack, velcro, most all tacking machine. which is simalier to use as this quilter, or so i thought...lol. im going to go loosen the tension, try that and come back...if you can think of anything else , please post it.

Is the thread tangling inside the bobbin case, or is it tangling on the bottom of the fabric? Is there any way you can post a pic?
