    Where can I find white batik? I've searched lots of different sites and can't find any. They keep showing me black, red, blue, etc w/ white swirls and stuff in it. I thought I saw someone here say they found some.

    Please Help,
    Mish

    batiks plus;
    are you wanting a white fabric that is batik dyed...white? i have had some very light batiks that were very subtle, white backgrounds with very light pink, blue, ect ...but all white? how would that be since batiks are waxed and dyed?

    Kaufman has some pastels you can look for. Here's a sample from their website.

    I would think the best you may be able to find would be a cream/white batik... I don't think they make a white on white... :D:D:D

    You might have to find a thick cotton white on white.

    Batiks are printed with either shades and tints of one color, like various blues, or at least two separate colors, like blue and green. There are no tints of white since a tint adds white to the color, and shades of white are gray since a shade adds black to the color. So, your options are white and grays, or white and tints of some other color.

    If you go to any of the main fabric search engines and enter white batik you will get hundreds of results. You can then select any that you are interested in for a closer look. An example from the 588 items on quiltshops.com:

    The search engine URLs are

    Thank you for everyone's help. I know that I wouldn't be able to find white/white but I was having trouble trying to find some w/ a little tint.

    I did find something I liked and ordered it, so we'll see when it comes.

    Thank you again,
    Mish
