Default Who has 440qe

A friend of mine is wanting to learn how to quilt. She is thinking of maybe getting a 440QE that is used. Would someone mind sharing with me the price of what they paid for it new. The person is asking $2,200 for their used 440QE and it has about 400 hours on it. I am clueless on this one as I have a Viking, but told her I'd ask the group to see what any of you 440QE owners had to say about the machine. Is it worth it too in order to get the BSR? Thanks a bunch.

I think the BSR is definitely worth getting. $2200 for a used 440 with only 400 hours sounds reasonable to me.

That's actually a fair price. We paid over $4,000 over 2 years ago but it has the embroidery module. I saw a used 440 with module at my Sewing Center for $2,500. I love my 440 dearly and just bought a 330 as a back up.

I have one and it was around $4,000 new. Price sounds pretty good to me. I love the machine.

I love my 440QE and the BSR is terrific. The price seems fair to me as well.

It seems like a fair price to me. I have had my 440QE for a few years now and I love it more each time I use it. I regret that I never got a chance to take the classes for it but I learn alot from the board and other places online. You will definitely love it!

My DH paid about $3,000 for mine (without embroidery module -- I'm not into embroidery, just quilting). He had seen a Bernina sale, said he wanted to buy one for me and asked what I wanted. I never thought he was paying attention when I was yammering about them. It was the lowest priced machine with BSR, which is what I really wanted. I think $2,000 for a fairly new machine is a good deal. I had never owned a Bernina and am more delighted with it every day.

I think a BSR alone is about a grand, so for $2200 it's a deal for sure~ I love my 440 QE.
And I assume the walking foot is also included. It was with mine.
