I was at a quilting bee yesterday. Someone was discouraged as the charity quilt that she was working on was not perfect. The new lady to our group said "NEVER LOOK A GIFT QUILT IN THE STICHES". Had a good laugh but is is so true, and the discouraged lady wasn't any more.

If the person gettting the quilt is not a quilter she won't notice the mistakes. And that saying is so true. lOL Marge

you know what? I used to be a bit of a perfectionist, but I guess I have grown from my groaning,...lol.
I recently did a block that I made harder by not having proper directions, so had to wing it. When I got done, and was so relieved...it took more than a day or two, had to keep coming back to it...I saw a 'flaw',...of course I had the pangs we all get, but I said, "nope. It's staying. I worked long and hard on that block, and the rest looks great.
I'm not taking the chance that I might make it look worse, bc of one thing."
I am still surprised that I left it, but not sorry.
This saying is a keeper, thanks, gennynut.
Quilting is definitely a blast, but it's also hard work at times. :D

I like that saying. I'm going to try and remember it when I get discouraged.
