So true, so true, couldn't have said it better!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, WINE IN THE OTHER, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

How great you have a new sewing buddy, maybe the time together will allow him to work and talk through his issues. And it will give you time to get to know him in totally different way.

Had to take my glasses off because they were fogging up from my tears while this reading this thread and about you and your nephew. My goodness, what a wonderful aunt and role model you must have been for him while he was growing up. The Lord is our Jehovah Jireh which means, "I see ahead and make a provision for you". I believe He saw ahead for your nephew and made a provision for him through you. The Lord moves in mysterious ways...
I am thrilled for him and you to go on this journey together! I pray that constructing the quilt will help him "build" his life back .
We never know who's lives we touch through our daily routines over the course of time. You touched his heart big time.
