at the local barnes and noble we can get every quilting mag i ever heard of and ones i never did. but i love to get subscriptions as gifts instead. f&p missed one and i bought it. when i called they extended my subscription. never had a problem with them or anyone else. the original problem on this thread sounds like northcott's. did you try there?

Many times the department that handles the web content isn't tied to the department that handles the sale/shipping. We battle the same problem where I work. It is unfortunate that they don't realize how bad such customer service is. I'd suggest writing an email.

The bookstore we have here...IF you can call it a book store...sells pretty much nothing. Magazines are mainly the wedding ones, mens, house beautification...no craft magazines whatsoever.
Our exchange sells ONE quilt magazine. They get 10 copies in. If you aren't there the minute it comes on the shelf, you are pretty much out of luck. There used to be 3 quilt magazines, but they downsized the "womens section" and added more cars/mens magazines.
I have asked if they could order more than 10 copies AND more quilting mags, but was told they have no space for it. Right now, anything that has to do with crafts, has 2 shelves...3 feet wide. That's it. Sucks!
if you ever decide to order online, go to http://www.mags4cheap.com

they match any mag sale lowest price. no hassling.. their prices are just equal, and you don't have to wait for a sale. they don't have everything, but they have a few. check it out.

Hey QuiltyLisa, I've been to that Borders bookstore a few times when visiting DS#3 and his kids who live in Rockland, MA. Used to go to The Fabric Place up there to but it's gone. May in Jersey

May-I cried when Fabric Place closed :( I took a class there on making a quilted messenger bag. And The fabric selection was to die for! When they closed I bought tons and tons of patterns and books and fabric.

Rockland is what maybe 20 minutes from me. My DD boyfriend lives in Rockland. You will have to let me know when you come this way again.
