So when you use these stencils, what do you use for marking the designs? I am intrigued by this. I hope to piece a 'quick' quilt soon so that I can do some more hand quilting but I've never used a stencil. I have, however, bought some already!

Do test which colors you plan on using on scrap fabric. I have never had a problem with them washing out, I also hand quilt. But I am in the category of better safe than sorry. Only takes a few minutes.

Thanks to all those who posted links to their favorite quilt motif sites. I bookmarked them for later and , as always, am thrilled with being part of a group like this who shares so freely and helps other quilters.

I use either a #2 mechanical pencil on light fabrics or similar Bohin mechanical pencil with white 'lead' for dark fabrics. I usually mark as I go if it's not a large, all-over design.

I am always on the look out for quilting ideas. I keep a notebook of ideas I see in magazines or online. I can resize them as necessary with my printer. I am art-challenged but I am pretty good at copying when I see good ideas. I also have taken a couple of Craftsy classes. I need all the help I can get.
