Default Why do I (we) do this?

I got an idea the other night. I like to fit in a little fabric work after I come home from real work. I drew a pattern. I like to do little things, crazy mini person that I am. I have spent the last four nights going through my little scraps, making templates, and cutting up little bits and pieces. I could have had an entire large quilt cut out days ago!!! And yet..... I'm hoping for snow, snow . snow this weekend. Maybe the 400 little bits (and borders) will come together and make me smile. I'll show ya when I'm done!

That is all part of the fun and enjoyment of making quilts, the dreaming and planning and creating. It isn't all in the main putting together. We got to get the ideas flowing first. Good luck with your next great idea!

You are soooooo not alone. I mess around for hours when given the opportunity...the tiniest pieces can have me absorbed for vast amounts of time. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Sounds wonderful, I feel the same way. In the time I spend dreaming, planning and visualizing could have been done with another project.

I am in the middle of making a quilt for a graduation, I have to make 30 blocks and I have 16 done. The whole time I have been working on this quilt, Im thinking of the next one Im going to make. I want to go thru my stash and start picking fabrics for it so bad, because of this, have not been in my sewing room for 3 days. So nothing is getting done. Going to make myself work on the blocks today, the sooner they are done, the sooner I can start my Snake River!

Sometimes when that idea takes root the only thing you can do is run with it.

Imagination and dreams are a big part of quilting.

The tactile experience will get jump start the creative portion of your brain. Then you'll be off and running with a great plan!

Sounds like a plan! I too am hoping to get one or two UFO's done this weekend due to staying in because of the snow. It's nice of Mother Nature to give us an excuse to stay in an quilt. We are not going to get as much snow as they once thought, but still, I don't have a need to go out. So in I stay and quilt. If I get my top done I will post a picture. I hope everyone else will post a photo too!
