Default Why don't I do this

Why don't I take the time more often to match my thread color. Just did this and it is so worth that extra little effort. This may become my New Years resolution

Are you saying you match color thread to fabric when piecing? My thread is either white, beige or gray usually for all, exception black or navy blue....then usually matched......or close....

I use white for most all piecing and some quilting. Sometimes it's an art to choose just the right color for quilting.

Unless I'm sewing white to white fabric I usually use bright red thread to piece with. Red thread makes me happy.

I usually use cream or grey. Lately, I have been using grey more often. I'll even use cream when piecing white. I always try to match my top stitching thread tho. That way, it won't show any small oopsies. But Onebyone, I like the idea of using a colour that makes you happy! Bet you don't have a hard time seeing it if you have to unsew!

I inherited many, many wooden spools of thread from Mom and Grandma. I use light colors to fill bobbins and store empty wooden spools in large clear containers on a shelf in my sewing cave. I leave dark colors on spools and store as well. Love seeing them, makes me forget about the dust I should deal with ! LOL!

I have old thread from Mom and Mom-in-law, too. I used to keep the spools in one of those jar lamps. I'm thinking of decorating a mini Christmas tree with them and some other notions.
