I'm doing an Eleanor Burns Summer Porch quilt and it called for 10 inch white strips for the borders, and I'm not sure I want white borders that wide, and I don't have enough of the block fabric for a piano key border, so I bought several coordinating fat quarters to audition for border fabric. That way I didn't have to buy enough colored fabric for a border and then decide I didn't like it after all.

Ghostrider I don't worry about what other people do at all but wondered if I was missing the point of FQs. It was interesting to see why others buy them & how they use them. It's always fun to share ideas with all of you since we all have a different approach to things.
