I am about to start my first applique quilt and my problem is will the adhesive which I will use stand the years of use and wear. I realise there are many products to use but I would really like to know that sometime down the years the quilt is not going to break down because of the adhesive sticky material I have used. Can anyone give me any info on what I should use.
Have had a quick look through old posts but could not find anything.

Thanks for your help and assistance

Steam a Seam works really well. It sticks and doesn't come off. I've used it a lot with no problems at all.

Thankyou YTQ I shall have to look for this brand as I live in New Zealand and I have not heard of this particular one. I would like to know how the sticky backing holds up over the years for something like an heirloom quilt, do not want to put all that work into it just to have the sticky stuff come through to the other side several years down the track if you know what I mean.

I used vliesofix on my last quilt. It's easy to use and I got it from Spotlight.

But you are going to be stitching around the edges of the pieces as well right? In this case, the fusible is only really there as a temporary hold anyway - with needleturn appliqué, there is no fusible but the pieces stay put all the same.
