Well, it is better than the FQ they were selling since the new store was built but it is not going to be the bolts everyone was hoping for but those prepackaged yards for about 7.00. An entire 50 foot long isle has all the peg hooks ready for the fabric and without counting, there looks to be about 400 different fabrics that will be sold. I've got 2 Wmarts 20 miles in different directions that have a pretty nice fabric dept ( with lots of new stuff!! ) and a couple of good LQS close, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining.....

The precuts are the same as Alco use to have on a wall. At least this is the info I was told by the Alco manager. Various manufacturing brands from many top quality names as well as the lesser quality all mixed in. You have find the selvage to know. I can find great fabric on line cheaper then the prices even at Walmart now. I like Walmart and other chain stores for the quilting notions such as rulers and mats more then for fabric.

I don't think I am going to be able to find a selvage on these pre packed things. They had a few hanging up already and the fabric feels OK but it is wrapped pretty tight around the cardboard hanger....guess, if I don't like it, I can return it......

Our local walmart did'nt have but 4 bolts of fabric, although I did read an article in local paper of how Walmart is bringing the fabric and craft departments back.

I bit the dust today and traveled to my walmart in cocoa
beach, actually wasn't that bad once I found the right street *LOL* it only took me 20 minutes to get there and they had lots of on the bolt material but no one to cut it....Maybe because it was Sunday...I did find lots of interfacing and that is why I went...Now that I know it is just a short way away I will go more often as my walmart
has very little to offer .....Rita

Our Walmart had a fairly decent fabric department. They remodeled the store over the winter. Now the fabric is cheap and ugly. I won't even look at that department anymore. I still get better buys and name brand fabrics in Lancaster.
