I found out that she had bought it from a lady at a shop that is why she got it so cheap. The lady at the shop was getting a new machine that was computerized. So.....it will be delivered on Saturday hopefully. I cannot wait! :) I don't even know what kind it is! I am like a kid in a candy store that has to wait! ;)

9 in straight stitch machines for use on a table are around $600 or more. Brother makes one and I have a Baby Lock.
A stitch regulator can be added for $499.
So far it is working out but hope someday to be able to afford a long arm machine. The 4 inch quilting area is limiting.

You are right; the Viking mega quilter is a great machine to work with. I've had mine for a year and haven't used it up to it's full potential yet. I bought a Ruby this past weekend and was offered 500 for my mega quilter for a trade in but just couldn't see losing so much money in a yr espcially since I hadn't used it much. It was worth that much to keep it. It's a great machine.

the 9in mega quilter starts out around 1000 and there is also an 18in one but I don't know the price.
