Well, I had a 4thread Serger that I only used once or twice so I took it to my janome dealer to get rid of it. He asked me how much what I wanted. I told him how about a trade. I wanted an Oliso iron like his. So guess what? It came in this week and I picked it up yesterday. Oooo it is so nice! Love the weight and the fact that it should handle being used a lot. Just in time, because my 2nd $10 iron was starting to die on me and I'm in the middle of a storm at sea quilt.

Oh, I realize the serger was probably worth more than the iron, but it isn't worth anything if I don't use it and it's just taking up space. Win WIN as far as I can tell. :)

I love my Oliso too!!! My DH got it for me for Christmas...best gift I ever got! They don't sell them in Canada, so he had to find it on the internet....what a gem.
The iron is perfect! Light, horizontal and love the fact that it raises automatically when not being touched (hope you have that function!) Happy quilting!

I am looking at the 1600 but have never owned one. My Rowenta went out. The 3rd one I have had in 15 years at over $100 each.

I love my Oliso, too. It is like have an extra set of hands when I'm pressing. Lucky you.

I've never heard of these so I went to the Oliso site and OMG I want that iron!! I've been looking at irons for a few weeks now and I'm SOOO glad I didn't buy another. That touch system ... awesome.

    Thanks for this post!!!

I have heard nothing but bad about the newer Rowenta. That's what I wanted until I read up onm them. The Oliso has a ton of good reviews all over.

The soul plate is so shiny and has soooooo many steam holes! Its only been a day, but I think its love at first sight!

Don't you just love new things to use for quilting? After reading up on the Oliso iron, I want one too!

Just ordered it (the 1600). Found it on Overstock for $159 shipped. Looked to be the cheapest price I could find from a trusted source.

I just ordered it tonight from Nancy's Notions for $149 with a couple other items and shipping was 9.99 so virtually the same price as overstock.
