Default would you consider

Sunbonnet Sue a 1930's pattern?
I have some orphan SBS blocks done in 30' repros, which is why I am asking...I need to make a quilt using 30's repro's and figure these stray 6 blocks would be a great starting point! OH and get this, the lady that made them, made 3 facing right, and 3 facing left...how odd is that???

I don't know the history of Sunbonnet Sue, but she fits the era of the 1930's to me.

I found a vintage Little Bo Peep quilt top at an estate sale a few months ago. The applique was beautiful. If I remember correctly, the girls on the left half of the quilt were facing right, and the ones on the right half were facing left. It was as if the girls were looking at each other. Perhaps that is what the lady had in mind with the Sunbonnet Sue's that you got.

In any case, I think you will have a wonderful quilt when you are finished.

not sure why, but my virus guard will NOT allow this site..it blocks and locks my computer from going there!

here is why I SORT of have going on in EQ right now..BUT the SBS's will all be framed so that the borders all come out equal..EQ just won't let me figure that part out!
since the SBS girls are facing both directions, the two in the center would be facing each other! I also will NOT be using these colors, but I used them in EQ for contrast!

Jacquie; So sorry about the SB website! I checked it again and it opened for me so perhaps its just how your settings are in your virus program.
I like your layout of the blocks. Since you have 3 blocks of each set you really couldn't have them face each other, could you. I do like how you have the quilt laid out though very nice!
Gotta love a Sunbonnet Sue quilt!!

what you have is nice... did you think of putting them on point? 30s repro prints could be used on the filler triangles and that would make them a lot larger...

I wanted to read the site but my virus protection also blocked it - but when I think of SBS I think 30s if my opinion counts

that was my first thought...but the quilt can only be 60" sq...so that threw things off with having to place 6 of the SBS blocks...
this layout has really got my attention...I think I can make this work!
